Help Stop Big Industry from Killing Renewable Energy Bill

Oregon is on the brink of taking strong action to promote renewable energy, but a high priced team of corporate lobbyists is aggressively working to kill this groundbreaking legislation. Your emails, letters, and phone calls are urgently needed now!
The most significant thing the 2007 Legislature can do to combat global warming is to pass SB 838, which would require that 25% of Oregon's electricity come from clean, renewable energy (such as solar and wind power) by 2025.
SB 838 is a priority for Governor Kulongoski, the Oregon Conservation Network and is supported by a broad base of interests including rural county commissioners and major utilities.
The opposition, which includes big corporate interests like Intel and Weyerhaeuser, hasn't given up, but has switched tactics. Knowing that they will have a hard time convincing anyone to vote "no" outright on such a great bill with such widespread support, they've decided to try to kill it by getting members to slow it down or send it back to committee.
Don't let them do it.
